- Inputs
- Approved Proposal.
- Approved Estimate Revision.
- Required conditions
- Customer's commercial decision recorded as approved.
Steps
- Confirm the authorization mechanism required for this project type (signed contract, signed proposal, purchase order, MSA + work order, or other).
- Execute the authorization — obtain the signature or equivalent commitment.
- Confirm signature authority.
- Issue the deposit invoice, where required.
- Record the authorization against the specific approved Estimate Revision it applies to.
Decision points
- Is a deposit required for this project type? → If so, do not hand off to Operations until the deposit invoice is issued.
- Outputs
- Executed authorization, linked to the specific Estimate Revision it authorizes.
- Deposit invoice issued, where required.
- Handoff
- Project Manager
- Failure / exception path
- Customer declines to execute authorization after approving the Proposal — the opportunity does not reach CONTRACT_READY; routed back to the Sales Director.
Candidate system state transition
Opportunity → CONTRACT_READY
Contract executed — signature authority confirmed and deposit invoice issued where required. The opportunity is contractually authorized and ready to enter Operations — not merely commercially agreed to by the customer.
